WASHINGTON – Mark your calendars for January 23, 2025, when the Commander, Navy and Installations Command (CNIC) will host two webinars titled “Navigating USAJOBS,” facilitated by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

Whether you’ve previously applied for a federal government position using USAJOBS.gov or are looking to maximize your use of the platform to its fullest extent, experts from OPM will be providing detailed guidance and step-by-step instructions. “USAJOBS.gov is a valuable platform that allows candidates to create profiles, save resumes for future use and apply for positions. We developed this webinar specifically to walk through the process and answer questions to help people navigate the platform successfully,” explained Ebonie Powe, Family Employment Readiness Program Analyst for CNIC, who played a key role in organizing the sessions in partnership with OPM.

By hosting this webinar and offering two sessions, CNIC is helping bridge the gap for individuals in search of federal employment opportunities, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to effectively use the USAJOBS.gov platform to apply for positions. This initiative highlights CNIC’s partnership with OPM and their ongoing commitment to supporting military families in the federal employment processes. “This webinar will provide job seekers with valuable insights and practical tips on how to effectively utilize the USAJOBS platform. They’ll learn how to create and optimize their profiles, search for federal job openings, understand job announcements and navigate the application process,” shared Katherine Kovar, Engagement Specialist for USAJOBS at OPM.

Registration is open to all, including those who are not yet federal government employees. The webinars will also have a special emphasis on exploring unique hiring paths and special hiring authorities, including those for military spouses and veterans. “We encourage everyone to register, attend and actively participate, especially transitioning service members and military spouses. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable knowledge that will help navigate federal employment opportunities and understand the unique hiring paths available to the military community,” said Powe.
