Pledge to Camp 

The Pledge to Camp initiative is back in conjunction with Great Navy Campout! The Navy MWR Community Recreation and Liberty programs are encouraging participants to get out and enjoy the great outdoors, whether it’s their first or hundredth time, in a backyard or a national park! Explore and share your adventures each month from Memorial Day weekend through October for your chance to win a $500 gift card! Two winners will be randomly selected each month: one E1-E5 winner and one winner selected from E6 and above military personnel and other eligible MWR patrons. At the end of the event in October, two grand prize winners will be randomly selected for a $2,500 gift card! There will be one E1-E5 grand prize winner and one grand prize winner selected from E6 and above military personnel and other eligible MWR patrons. * Giveaway Contest Rules:
During the period beginning May 20-October 31, 2024, Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) HQ Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Community Recreation and Liberty will conduct a Pledge to Camp contest in conjunction with the Great Navy Campout initiative. The contest is subject to these official rules, and by entering, entrant (“entrant”) agrees to be bound by them and the decisions of CNIC HQ Navy Community Recreation, which are final and binding in all respects. The contests will begin at 10 a.m. ET starting Monday, May 20, 2024. The monthly contests will run consecutively (Memorial Day Weekend 2024, June, July, August, September, October). The monthly contests will end at midnight ET the last day of each month (June 30, July 31, August 31, September 30, and October 31, 2024). The entry submission timestamp is the official timekeeping device for entry in the contest. The grand prize winner will be selected from all submissions made from 10 a.m. ET May 20, 2024, through October 31, 2024, at midnight ET.

b. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win a prize. Odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received. CNIC, Community Recreation (N922), is offering the “Navy Pledge to Camp contest sponsored by T-Mobile” (the “contest”).

c. The contest will be conducted via the Navy MWR website. Each month of the contest, entrants may log in to the website and enter their information, including the dates and location they went camping. They will then be entered for a chance to win a gift card in the amount of $500 to a store to be selected by MWR. All entrants who are not drawn for a monthly prize will be automatically entered into a final drawing for a $2,500 gift card to a store to be selected by MWR at the end of the Great Navy Campout on October 31, 2024.

d. Two separate prize categories will be offered based on entrants’ demographics: E5 and below and E6 and above, and all other MWR qualified patrons.

e. Entrants must camp in the month they are entering to win.

f. By submitting an entry to this contest during the contest entry period, you agree to these official rules, which are a contract. Read them carefully before entering the contest.

g. By entering, you are giving permission to Navy MWR to use your name, comment and/or photo submission in future Navy and/or Navy MWR user-generated content campaigns.

h. Eligibility: Authorized MWR patrons at least age 18 years old and active-duty military at least 17 years old are eligible to enter. Navy Fleet and Family Readiness (CNIC HQ NAVY MWR) employees and their immediate family members involved in the planning and execution of this giveaway are not eligible to enter the contest. Winners will be verified as authorized MWR patrons using the AAFES DEERS database BEFORE qualifying for and receiving any of the prizes described herein. Winners must be eligible for MWR benefits as outlined in DoD Instruction 1015.10 and COMDTINST M1710.13D, "Military Morale, Welfare, and Recreation ("MWR") Programs," using the DEERS system.

i. How to enter: Entrants wishing to enter the contest may do so by going to https://www.navymwr.org/pledgetocamp to digitally pledge and submit their camping trip information. Only when the entrant has completed the pledge form and fulfilled any other requirements for their camping trip will their contest entry be considered submitted. The entrant will receive one entry into the contest. Limit one entry per household per camping trip. Multiple submissions will not be counted and will void the submission. Multiple submissions under different names, email addresses with the same name, or varying forms of identifiers, will void the submission.

j. Monthly Prize: One “gift card” valued at $500 to one winner E5 and below and one “gift card” valued at $500 to one winner E6 and above with all other MWR-eligible patrons each month for five months.

k. Grand Prize: One “gift card” valued at $2,500 to one winner E5 and below and one “gift card” valued at $2,500 to one winner E6 and above with all other MWR-eligible patrons selected after October 31, 2024.

l. Winner selection and notification: After each monthly contest has ended, the potential winner will be determined through a random drawing conducted by the CNIC HQ Navy MWR Community Recreation Branch, from all eligible entries received. Winners are chosen through a random number generator. The potential winner will be notified within three business days of the contest ending. The potential winner will be notified via email and will be required to complete, sign, and return documentation required by CNIC HQ MWR − including verification of eligibility form, photo of the participants during the registered camping trip, prize acceptance, publicity quote, and publicity release form.

m. If the potential winner cannot be reached after a reasonable effort has been exerted or fails to respond within seven business days of the date of notification, the potential winner does not return all required documentation to include the eligibility verification documentation, eligibility cannot be verified, or the winner is deemed ineligible within seven business days of notification, the potential winner forfeits the prize, and an alternate winner will be randomly drawn from all remaining eligible entries in the same manner described above. If the alternate potential winner is unable to accept the prize for any reason to include but not limited to, unresponsiveness within seven business days, ineligibility, etc., the prize is forfeited and another alternate potential winner will be randomly drawn from all remaining eligible entries. This potential winner selection and notification process shall be continued until one prize winner is confirmed. If a prize or a prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate potential winner will be randomly drawn.

n. Principal purposes: The primary use of the information provided by entrants is to select and contact potential winners. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Disclosure is voluntary: There is no obligation to provide any information; however, failure to provide the requested information may result in the contest entrant being deemed ineligible to win or to be awarded a prize.

o. In the event CNIC HQ Navy MWR is prevented from continuing with the contest, or the integrity of the giveaway is severely undermined by any event beyond the Navy’s control, including but not limited to fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of god or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, war (declared or undeclared), terrorist threat or activity, or any federal, state or local government law, order or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, or other cause not reasonably within the Navy’s control (each a “force majeure” event), the Navy shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the contest without further obligation. If the Navy, in its sole discretion, elects to abbreviate the contest as a result of a force majeure event, Navy MWR reserves the right, but not the obligation, to award the prizes from among all valid and eligible entrants received up to the time of such force majeure event.

p. Limitation of liability: Entrants agree to hold harmless the Department of Defense (DOD), the Department of Navy (DoN), CNIC HQ, CNIC HQ Navy FFR, CNIC HQ NAVY MWR, or its affiliates for any liability of any kind resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the contest, the Great Navy Campout, or acceptance/misuse or nonuse of the prizes awarded. Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this contest or use or redemption of any prize. DOD, DoN, CNIC HQ NAVY FFR, CNIC HQ Navy MWR or its affiliates are not responsible for any defective prizes. By accepting a prize, the winner grants CNIC HQ Navy MWR the right to use winner’s name for purposes of advertising in any and all media, now known or hereafter devised, without notice, review or approval, without compensation, unless prohibited by law, up to six months after the prize is awarded. CNIC HQ Navy MWR is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the contest, or in the announcement of prizes.

q. CNIC HQ Navy MWR will not be held responsible for entries which may be lost in transit, undelivered, delayed or illegible entries. CNIC HQ Navy MWR reserves the right at their sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and/or void any entries submitted fraudulently; to modify or suspend the giveaway; or to terminate the giveaway and conduct a random drawing using all eligible non-suspect entries received as of the termination date. CNIC HQ Navy MWR reserves the right to modify prize award procedures. CNIC HQ NAVY MWR is not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, inability to access a website, inability to submit an entry, or fraud, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions or inaccurate transcription of entry information, whether caused by sponsor, users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions which may damage a user’s system or limit an eligible entrant’s ability to participate in the contest.
